Montessori Infant and Toddler

The Montessori Infant Program – Ages 12 to 18 months

Children between 12 and 18 months are introduced to our school through the Infant program. A 1:3 ratio is maintained, with the Head Teacher having Montessori Infant and Toddler qualifications. Our Montessori teachers, RECEs and assistants are patient, kind and caring individuals who will help your child develop a routine, provide stimulating activities and care for all your child’s needs. Gross motor and fine motor activities are part of the daily routine. Age appropriate materials are provided to enhance the child’s language, cognitive and motor skill development.

In addition to the Infant curriculum, Infant children will receive weekly visits to the gym. Music is enhanced through the Kindermusik Program. Outdoor Education and School Visits also enrich their experience.

The Montessori Toddler Program – Ages 18 months to 30 months

At around 18 months, your child is ready to be introduced to the Montessori Toddler program. The class ratio is 1:5 and the Head Teacher has Montessori Infant and Toddler qualifications. The Toddler staff assists your child in developing a routine, making good social choices and provide stimulating age-appropriate activities. This program has 4 main curriculum areas: Practical Life (self-help skills), Sensorial, Language and Culture. The curriculum can include toilet training, if the child is ready.

In addition to the Toddler curriculum, Toddler children will receive French instruction, as well as, weekly visits to the gym. Music is enhanced through the Kindermusik Program. Outdoor Education and School Visits also enrich their experience.
