Congratulations to our Casa 2 classroom who won the 30x30 classroom challenge contest with the David Suzuki Foundation. This year’s 30×30 Nature Challenge was all about love. The CASA 2 class wrote a love letter to Mother Nature.

Our Casa students were excited to learn how tree sap is magically transformed into sweet, sticky syrup. Yummmm!
The Casa children had a unique experience this week when a simulator cow visited our classroom to teach the children how to milk a cow!
The 6th Annual Cultural day was held at the Montessori Country School Milton on January 25th. Every year, the children learn about a country and/or region and more specifically, the culture by reviewing the flag, sampling food specific to that region, listening to music, finding the country on a map and participating in crafts related to the specific country or culture.

Do you know that Monarch butterflies eat milkweed plants? The Casa classes at Montessori Country School sure do! As part of the Montessori Country School Casa curriculum each classroom received a kit to learn more about Monarch butterflies. The children were excited to welcome these new guests into their classrooms. Having the kits gave the children the opportunity to learn about their life cycle from caterpillar birth, the chrysalis stage and then metamorphosis into a butterfly.
Join us for the Montessori Country School Family Picnic. The 2011-2012 school year is almost over and what better way to celebrate than with a picnic in Country Heritage Park! This annual event is sure to draw a crowd, so don't miss out, meet you in the gazebo at 5:30pm.
On Thursday June 14th, Montessori Country School Students hosted their annual Father's Day celebration. Dad's enjoyed treats and beverages as the children presented them with a special gift. Everyone took part in a hike around Country Heritage Park.

Spring is in the air and what better way to celebrate the season, than by joining the MCS family for The Montessori Country School Annual Spring Concert. The concert will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd from 5:45-7:30.
On Friday May 11th, Montessori Country School Students hosted their annual Mother's Day tea celebration. Mom's enjoyed a feast of treats while sipping their "iced" tea. The children presented a special gift to their mom's that they had grown and cared for themselves. Aunt's and Grandmothers were also welcome to join us!
On April 20th, the CASA students at the Montessori Country School in Milton, will be celebrating Earth Day. The children will be participating in a garbage clean-up of surrounding areas including Country Heritage Park.
On March 30th, 2012, the students at the Montessori Country School in Milton will celebrate Spirit Day by focusing on careers that interest them. Students have been asked to think about what they would like to be when they grow up and to come to school dressed as someone in that particular occupation. Based on what we’ve heard from students, we can expect to see some doctors, firefighters, business men and women and even professional athletes! The children are excited to come dressed and discuss why they have chosen the particular profession.
The 5th Annual Cultural day was held at the Montessori Country School Milton located near the Country Heritage Park on January 27th. Every year, MCS Milton focuses on different countries, regions or cultures as a learning opportunity for our children. In the past we have studied China, Mexico and Hawaii to name a few. This year, the children were excited to learn about Trinidad and Tobago and the territory of Nunavut.
MCS Milton is collecting non-perishable food items for donation to the Salvation Army to help make a happy holiday for those in need.
